This place wins on atmosphere alone. It looks just like an old-fashioned diner, but with a lot of bells and whistles. Lots of different areas to eat, and tons of selections on the menu. The two hostesses at the front were adorable. And all the servers had a smile on their face. Only had a coffee this time but can't wait to get back and try the food! I saw steaming plates passed by and it all looked so delicious.

The food here was absolutely delicious we wanted everything on the menu! We went back the next day for breakfast. We had our 3 year old with us and it was a great place for families. The service both days were the best service we got our whole trip. Shout to Anthony and Joaquin for being so awesome. The ambiance is so fun. The restaurant is very clean. We had the best experiences and we will definitely be back.

I like this space. It's got a great atmosphere and energy. The waits are always long, but the staff is honest and they are funny if you're close to the front where the microphone is. They have this awesome candy counter that has some great vintage candies. The serving sizes are large and enough to take home if you're not super hungry. The staff was so sweet and accommodating to my god-daughter and her baby cousin. They were kind and sweet, even gave them little drink umbrellas to keep them occupied during the wait. Like I said, the waits are long, but they're totally worth it. Don't be rude or mad that the wait is long, just prepared.

Great diner vibes, good food and energy. We came at 12pm on Sunday and had to wait 30 minutes which wasn't too bad. Menu is extensive and portions are massive. I ended up ordering a side of hash with a side of egg on top, and it was perfect. Would love to try one of their sandwiches next time.

We love this place! The atmosphere is fun and eclectic and hopping, with lively music and lots of ambience in the decor and seating. It has an old style diner feel and oozes charm and fun. The menu is extensive and offers something for those liking meat or not. Breakfast and lunch were being served so we had a bit of both. The portions were huge so given the prices we felt it was definitely worth it! The root beer is made in house and they serve it in an icy mug which is delightful. The taste too is sublime and was the perfect sweet tang to go with the flavor of the pastrami. I loved the layers of the open faced sandwich and all the care in the cooking. It was obvious in the taste that this was made with fresh ingredients and flavored well. The service was friendly and prompt, and we will definitely be back and can highly recommend this spot!

Ok, who's up for Saturday Brunch in Chicago...this guy. So stopped in Eleven City Diner. Love the vibe, its classic diner, 50's music and a low rumble of the crowd...it is brunch in Chicago after all. Greeted at the door by a beverage pusher...ok yes please but why not transfer it to my table? Making me pay on the spot strange, probably for busier times, but surprisingly not that busy. But hit two of my new pet peeves. The card tipping while holding the device and the QR menus. How hard is it to wipe down a classic diner menu? The food, portion sizes to the roof. If you are looking for plenty, it's here. Had a Bad A$& Breakfast sandwich with potatoes. Sandwich was good but potatoes were amazing. Points for ambiance and atmosphere.

Eleven City Diner is a superb breakfast / brunch spot in the Chicago area! It was recommended by staff at the hotel I was staying at in Chicago, and did not disappoint. Last Thursday, I rushed to come here for brunch, and took an Uber here because I am just visiting the Chicago area. I walked in and ordered table for one, and got bar seating immediately. I immediately enjoyed the casual, laid-back atmosphere around me and snapped some photos to capture the moment. I asked the waiter for popular items, and 11 City French Toast (FT) was mentioned. Rita's Plate appealed to me because it had eggs, meat, and potatoes, but also came with the FT. Waiter said FT is better with 11 City toppings -- strawberries and bananas that is. I said why not, let's go for it. While we were waiting, I saw a keg of root beer (RB) and saw that 11 City is known for its authentic, bottomless RB. I said why not, and called the waiter over and ordered that for my drink. The wait time was not egregious, but it was somewhat long. I was presented with the Rita's Plate at long last, which came with what looked like ham, scrambled eggs with fresh avocado, and potato wedges. On the second plate there was powdered FT, and since this was 11 city style, came with strawberries and bananas. All the food was pretty spot on. I enjoyed ham, egg, and potatoes plate but it was not a home run. Still flavorful and enjoyable. The FT was amazing, probably one of best FT I've tried at a brunch spot before. Flavorful and with the strawberries and bananas it added lot of natural sugar to it. If getting toppings, I would advise against using too much of the maple syrup; in this case it is already sweet enough with the powder and fruit, and maybe conservative quantities of syrup is called for. As well, if you order anything else sugary like root beer as a drink, you most certainly don't want to get an overload of sugar for breakfast, so I would advise again limited quantities of maple syrup or skipping it altogether. I will say, there was a few mishaps and delays in my order, such as the bartender forgetting I had ordered RB so I had to remind him, and it only arrived much after my main dish. But it's not a deal breaker, and I understand that folks can be busy here. As for the RB, the drink was a bit sugary but I missed root beer as I haven't had it for the longest time, it was good to try authentic fresh RB once again and best is they offer free refills, so I got one and finished half of the other (as I said, bit too sugary for me!) All in all, this is a spot-on breakfast or brunch spot if one is visiting Chicago, and cannot go wrong with 11 City Diner. I will recommend, and my suggestion will be to ask for popular items and/or toppings, and then adjust or add substitutes -- as I have for the FT -- accordingly, based on best judgement or preference. I enjoyed this spot and will likely be back once I find myself in the Chicago area again. Definitely check it out!
